Anxiety & Depression

  8 Thursdays, 5:30 – 7:00pm
April 15th – June 3rd 2021

In this series we will explore the experience of living with Anxiety and/or Depression and gain a greater understanding of how Anxiety and Depression develop and manifest. This group is an opportunity to gain insight and to experience a series of techniques to manage symptoms.

I wrote the curriculum using Van Susteren's "Emotional Inflammation," which covers therapy, nature, diet, sleep hygiene, and social action.

Understanding Difficult Emotions in Relationship

8 Wednesdays, 5:30 – 7:00 pm
February 3rd – March 24th 2021

We all have difficult emotions, and typically those emotions are in response to someone, or the lack of someone else in our lives. In this series we will uncover and explore our patterns of thinking, feeling and communicating. We will learn how these patterns impact our relationship with ourselves and others. Drawing on the latest research, we will discover the purpose of relationship, healthy models of relating, and develop and practice new and effective ways of communicating our difficult emotions in relationship. Couples, family members, and individuals are invited to attend this 8-week group.

This group teaches mentalization, neuroscience and attachment theory. I use the curriculum from Bateman and Fonagy's MBT-I group, modified for the general public.

Grief and Loss

September - October 2021

We experience so many kinds of loss throughout our lives: death, divorce, beloved pets, and loss of job, health or mobility. At this moment in time, many are experiencing more than one loss as a result of the pandemic. Without support and adequate grieving, these losses can seem overwhelming. Please join us for a healing journey as we explore different ways to express and engage with grief through poetry, artwork and story telling. In better understanding ourselves and our feelings, we can process our losses in a healing way, providing a groundwork that honors memories and paves a future.

I developed the curriculum based on grief rituals from Weller's "The Wild Edge of Sorrow,"  Rosen's "Saved by a Poem" and my transpersonal training in the UK.
